Candlestick Pattern Simulator

The Chart Simulator is a candlestick replay tool. It builds a fresh synthetic price series every time you load it, scans that series for classic candlestick patterns, and marks each one on the chart — so you can watch a setup form bar by bar rather than meeting it already finished in a textbook diagram.

Running a replay

Press play — or hit the spacebar — to reveal candles one at a time. The amber progress bar under the toolbar shows how far through the series you are. The speed buttons run the replay at 1×, 2×, 5× or 10×. To move manually, use the step-back and step-forward arrows or the ← and → keys, and the skip buttons to jump straight to the start or the end. The refresh button generates a new chart with a different set of patterns.

Choosing what to plot

The symbol dropdown covers stocks, crypto, forex and futures, and the timeframe buttons re-aggregate the same series into longer or shorter bars. Overlay EMA 9, EMA 20, EMA 50 or VWAP from the toolbar, and switch the lower pane between volume, RSI and MACD.

What to look for

The Patterns panel on the left lists every formation the simulator recognises — Doji, Hammer, Bullish and Bearish Engulfing, Harami, Morning and Evening Star, Three White Soldiers, Tweezer tops and bottoms, and more (how to read candlestick charts covers the anatomy behind each one). Click a pattern to highlight only its occurrences, or click a marker on the chart to open its explanation, including the market psychology behind the setup and what confirms or invalidates it. The most useful habit: pause on a marker, predict the next candle, then step forward and check. Context matters more than the shape — a reversal pattern only means something after a real trend, and volume behind the signal candle separates a genuine turn from noise.
